Oswestry to plant 17,000 trees

Shrewsbury and North Shropshire Green Party are delighted that Oswestry Town Council unanimously passed a motion on 11 September, proposed by Councillor Olly Rose, to aspire to planting a tree per head of population in the Oswestry area (circa 17,000 ) over the next 3 planting seasons.

Councillor chosen as new prospective parliamentary candidate

Craig Emery has been a Parish Councillor since 2013, serving 2 years as Chair, and is well known for local community activity within the Parish.

Craig works for the Coop but is also a Parent Governor at Gobowen School, Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator, Independent Director for Derwen College, Speedwatch Member and Chair of the Gobowen Community Group.

Craig says “Everything I’ve ever done is to bring the community feel back again. The Bonfire / Firework night returning after over 20 years was hard work but with the support of others we made it happen. I like to ensure that the events are accessible and open to all especially with the Cost of Living so high currently.”
