Battlefield Ward

Battlefield Ward covers Battlefield and parts of Harlescott and Sundorne along Whitchurch Road in the north of Shrewsbury.

Battlefield Litter Pick

Our last litter pick was on Sunday 2nd March.  A huge thank you to all who helped us keep Battlefield tidy during 2024 and 2025.  We'll be out litter picking again soon. If you'd like to come along, go here for details.  All kit is provided but bring along thick gloves.  Children are welcome too.  Please contact our coordinator if you have any questions.

If there are any litter "hotspots" you'd like us to deal with, please let us know.

Battlefield Deserves Better Transport

We all need to move around from time to time, whether by car, bicycle or on foot.  Battlefield already has heavy traffic congestion on its main roads and this will only get worse without action to counter it.  Whether you walk, cycle or drive a car, we want to hear your ideas for improving transport in the Battlefield area and in the north of Shrewsbury in general.

We have some exciting ideas we'd like to share with you, so please come along to a public meeting that we're hosting at The Lantern on 12 March 2025.  Everyone is welcome, so please come along for an interesting discussion.

Petition: We need a new pedestrian crossing on Battlefield Road

Local residents know that crossing Battlefield Road can be extremely dangerous.  People need to be able to cross safely in order to get to the Park & Ride and the retail parks and bus stops. But we often have to wait a very long time to be able to cross the road here, and we often see people taking risks.  The situation is getting steadily worse and traffic will increase further when 98 new houses and commercial units are completed on the west side of Battlefield Road.

Please sign our petition asking for Shropshire Council to build a light-controlled pedestrian crossing on Battlefield Road between the junction of the A5112/Arlington Way and Battlefield Island.
