FixMyStreet for Porthill

The latest problems for Shropshire Council within Porthill ward reported by users
  • In addition to the existing potholes in this area the road surface is actually starting to disintegrate, 22nd February
Drivers are now having to slow down, sometimes suddenly, and drive around the damaged road surface. At night it is difficult to actually see either the length or depth of the potholes. This is dangerous. Do something about it quickly please. Thankyou

  • Crater sized multiple potholes, 21st February
Multiple deep crater sized potholes and breakdown of surface on carriageway now causing traffic to swerve to avoid them. This is not only a hazard to cars and other vehicles but to vulnerable road users, motorcyclists and cyclists in the dark might not see them until too late and this in conjunction with the potholes being next to a pedestrian crossing and being on a high traffic school route has the potential to cause a serious collision. There was work previously carried out to this area which obviously hasn’t lasted, does anyone check the quality of road repairs anymore? If not checked - it does not give value for money if reinstatement work is consistently sub standard.

  • Multiple very large and deep potholes, 21st February
The whole surface of the road is breaking up. This seems to have been reported multiple times over several months. People are having to swerve which is dangerous, and the situation is getting worse. Please prioritise this section of road as it is lethal now.

  • Multiple Potholes causing vehicles to drive in the centre of the road in an effort to avoid them, 20th February
The council must be held to account for the total mismanagement of the county's roads, in particular this area, considering the potholes are close to a school. These craters endanger children using the crossing since drivers are concentrating on the road rather than the environment. This site, stating "actioned" is simply not good enough. Details / dates are needed.
