FixMyStreet for Porthill

The latest problems for Shropshire Council within Porthill ward reported by users
  • Pothole and poor surface, 10th September
The surface of the mini roundabout on the exit to the Frankwell car park is in a poor state with a very large pothole. To avoid this, there is then a raised manhole cover as the road surface has deteriorated around it and previous repairs are failing too.

  • Luciefelde Road junction bin, 10th September
One bin bag of garden waste has been left next to the rubbish bin. Council workers have emptied the bin twice but are ignoring the bin bag next to it. Please can somebody just remove it?

  • Insufficient signage, 9th September
Following recent road works new street was temporarily two way and all signage indicating that it was one way were removed/ painted over. When roadworks ended and new street returned to one way traffic signs were not replaced, and signs on planters remain painted over as well as turn right sign opposite water lane still turned towards wall. As a result cars are sometimes travelling the wrong way way down new street . My photo shows that there is just one no entry sign at pavement level.- this is the only indication that it is one way and could easily be be missed.

  • Road signs missing, damaged and/or insecure, 9th September
There is a single "no entry" sign on the right hand side of the carriageway at the exit from the one-way system in New Street. There should be a second "no entry" sign on the left hand side of the carriageway above the "Except cycles" sign. There is a "2 way traffic" sign for traffic leaving the one way system. This sign is damaged and not securely fixed to the planter.
