  • Parking zones do not meet legal guidelines, they are smaller than the required 1.8 minimum legal requirement, 21st January
The parking zone markings for the length of this road need to be checked to see if it meets with the highways own minimum guidelines of 1.8m being required to create a parking zone. If found to be wrong then all parking zones in and around the surrounds of Shrewsbury should be checked and adjusted, where they are found to be incorrect, as well as compensation paid to anyone who has been wrongly ticketed in the past. Car owners are being ticketed for having their wheels overhanging the zone, when often it is impossible due to the size of the vehicle to park with in it. There is also a need to check the parking schedules are up to-date and correct for this length of road and indeed all parking zones in and around Shrewsbury. This issue has been in place for some considerable time now and previous attempts to notify those responsible seem to have been ignored as far as the public is aware, (i.e markings have remained unaltered penalty tickets are still being given)
