FixMyStreet for Porthill

The latest problems for Shropshire Council within Porthill ward reported by users
  • A49 road signs obscured by vegetation., 6th September
Impossible to add all the locations hence I have placed the problem close to the guildhall. A large number of green panelled roadsigns on the A49 from the county border with Herefordshire to the county boundary with Cheshire are obscured by vegetation. This is a longstanding problem (at least three years) and is only worsening. The need for out of region drivers unfamiliar with the road to have adequate notice of the need to eg. change lane or select the correct lane is a safety matter. Satnav does not always give adequate notice or clear direction. If there was an email address for SCC highways I would have used that. I sincerely hope you will accept this report in the spirit of concern in which it is intended and look forward to improvements in this problem over the next few months.

  • All "No Entry" signs missing., 4th September
All "No Entry" signs at the top of New Street are missing resulting in vehicles travelling in the wrong direction through the New Street one-way system. This is a road safety matter which requires immediate attention.

  • Dead squirrel, 1st September
I might have noticed the squirrel about a week ago. I is partially crushed with the end of its tail severed. It is not far from a drainage gutter.

  • Lots of standing water, 31st August
As the drains are all blocked there is a lot of water on the road making it dangerous for pedestrians as cars are swerving round. Drains need unblocking all along Porthill road
